2010 – A New Year
January 1st 2010 has come and gone. As we are moving into a new year, I am reminded of the song
“Fly Like and Eagle” by The Steve Miller Band. Some will remember the lyrics “Time keeps on
slippin’,slippin’,slippin’ Into the future.” The song also gives some admirable aspirations
about feeding the hungry and providing shoes for the shoeless.
No matter what one's personal goals are for 2010, the first place to stop for motivation must be
with The Creator. For those who claim Jesus as LORD, putting God first is not optional.
The Psalmist gives an encouraging word:
“Oh, love the LORD, all you His saints [For] the LORD preserves the faithful, And fully repays
the proud person. Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart, All you who hope in the LORD.”
Psalm 31:23-24 (NKJV)
Dear friend, as a child of God, I must remember that no matter what I attempt in 2010, it is God who
preserves His saints and God who strengths His saints and God who deserves the Glory Honor and Praise.
So, as I muse, over personal failures and success over the past year, I can’t help but to thank God for His Amazing Grace!
In His Service,
