To begin this BLOG I feel it to be appropriate to introduce myself for those who do not know me. And then give a short purpose of the BLOG.
My name Ted O. Easter, Jr. Some have called me Reverend Ted O. Easter, Jr and technically that is true because I am an officially ordained minister of the Gospel of Jesus
Currently I serve as Pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church in
In addition to being a pastor I work a full time job to support my family – to some it is not unusual for a pastor to work full time outside the church and to others is may be a very odd thing to pastor and work apart from the church. However, it is what I am doing at this time.
I did mention earlier that some people have referred to me as “Reverend” – and that is O.K. – Many pastors use this. Reverend is, for me, a title bestowed to me by some. As a child of God, Born Again by God, Reverend is something I find myself rarely to be. I don't consider myself irreverent - just don't think I am worthy to be called reverend. I have no problem with the title, and do choose to use the title at times. Others have called me “Preacher” or “Pastor” Some call me “Mr. Easter” – still others simply refer to me as “Ted”. Jokingly I have said I don’t mind what you call me as long as it is not “Late for dinner”. With all this said, the main thing one needs to know about me is that 1) I am not perfect. 2) I love the LORD God Almighty and desire to Serve Him 3) I don’t always show point #2. 4) God has saved me through faith by His Amazing Grace 5) The only principals I know are right come from the Bible.
The second part of this first BLOG entry is to give a purpose – The main purpose is to honor God. IN doing so I want to share my thoughts to any that may need to know them – for those who may want to attend the church I currently pastor - for those who want to pray for me or the ministry God has placed me – to think about things fro a different angle – But, the main thing is to Honor God.
I do not have any specific agenda for the BLOG – I am liable to comment on most anything – BUT REMEMBER , I am not perfect – I DO MAKE MISTAKES! Just want to be clear about the mistake thing.
The advice I have today – and for all days – is:
Matthew “But seek ye first the
In His Service, Ted
Easter Sunday is for me another Christian Holy Day with many mixed emotions. In Galatians 5:11 the Apostle Paul writes: “ And I, brethren, if I still preach circumcision, why do I still suffer persecution? Then the offense of the cross has ceased.”
One of the problems I have with the “offense of the cross” is how lightly I find myself, and others, treating the cross. For some the cross is only a trinket. For others it is some sort of a talisman. This Easter I saw a Chocolate cross for sell to use as a centerpiece. To me, a centerpiece cross is somewhat offensive.
This Easter, I do want to remember the cross – the burial – and the resurrection. To worship the cross is not the objective – to remember the Cross of Christ is a reminder that the life in Jesus I now have cost God much – for me to have life eternal – I understand that Jesus gave his life freely on the Cross.
So, have a Happy Easter, from Pastor Easter,
In His Service,

Proverbs 18:22
[Whoso] findeth a wife findeth a good [thing], and obtaineth favour of the LORD.
Today is the 19th Anniversary of the day The LORD granted me a good thing - and bestowed to me His favor - Today makes the 19th year of marraige.
To date - God has taught us much. He has allowed us to have four children. He has been good.
Only if I can learn to love her like Christ loves the church.
Happy Anniversary honey!
Ted
